Establishing and Communicating a Vision for Inclusive Education

Establishing and Communicating a Vision for Inclusive Education

The vision for inclusive education is based on the belief that all children have the right to be welcomed into general education classes in their neighborhood schools and that no child has to earn the right to belong. This belief is supported by over 30 years of research and grounded in social justice and civil rights. Participants in this webinar will come away with 10 reasons why inclusion benefits all children, and will be able to provide evidence to counter the top 5 myths about inclusion.

About the Presenter: Dr. Cheryl Jorgensen is an inclusive education consultant in private practice who specializes in student-specific consultation, team professional development, school-wide systems change, policy advocacy, and writing related to students with disabilities. Prior to her independent work, Cheryl was a project director with the UNH Institute on Disability and assistant research professor in UNH’s Education Department for 26 years.
